In 2019-20, our PHN continued to fund residential services to provide live-in alcohol and other drug treatment services, including culturally appropriate support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
These services are available to anyone living in the Darling Downs and West Moreton region.
Our 2019-20 providers were:
Sunrise Way runs a six-month residential program in Toowoomba that is divided into phases supporting the continued growth and development of the people completing the program. The program emphasises a person-centred approach, focusing on achieving the best outcomes for each individual.
Teen Challenge works with young people from 16 years of age to restore hope and rebuild their lives. They provide gender designated residential facilities that focus on developing the individual’s personal coping skills by incorporating lifestyle choices and changes.
Our PHN works with health professionals to improve their understanding and management of individuals who are seeking support. By improving alcohol and other drug (AOD) literacy with health professionals, we can provide efficient care and support for individuals trying to change their lives.
Non-residential alcohol and other drug treatment services funded by our PHN provide a variety of evidence-based interventions, including early and brief interventions, counselling, post treatment support and relapse prevention, case management and family support.

EACH works across the West Moreton region to support individuals and their families with therapeutic recovery-oriented services, including counselling, case management, relapse prevention and group work.
Lives Lived Well provides rural support to individuals, their families, young people and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the Darling Downs. Services include but are not limited to, outreach counselling support, withdrawal support, family therapy and support groups.
Ted Noffs operates in the West Moreton region working with socially disadvantaged and disconnected young people (12 – 25 years). They provide brief intervention (6 – 8 sessions) with evidence-based treatments, comprehensively assessing all individuals and designing a custom treatment plan to help them reach their goals.
Our PHN continues to fund holistic, culturally appropriate alcohol and other drug treatment services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples living in Toowoomba, Warwick, Dalby and Kingaroy.
These services provide withdrawal management support, counselling, rehabilitation and relapse prevention support, and care coordination.

Carbal Medical Services provides culturally safe, responsive and holistic support to help individuals with withdrawal management, rehabilitation and relapse prevention. This ongoing support is based in Toowoomba and Warwick.
Lives Lived Well provides rural support to individuals, their families, young people and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the Darling Downs region. They also provide support and outreach services to Cherbourg and Murgon communities.
The residential program at Sunrise Way also provides support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in a culturally safe and appropriate way.
